Surgeries

I hold constituency surgeries to give constituents the opportunity to have a face to face meeting with me. Penrith and the Border is the largest constituency in England covering well over one thousand square miles miles. In order to let constituents from all corners of Penrith and The Border meet me at a surgery I rotate them around the constituency and hold them in the following towns:

Penrith
Wigton
Brampton
Longtown
Appleby-in-Westmorland
Alston
Kirkby Stephen

They are usually on a Friday evening at about 5 pm. No appointment is required. Surgeries are advertised in:

Cumberland and Westmorland Herald
Cumberland News
Kirkby Stephen Messenger
Radio Cumbria
CFM Radio

However you do not have to wait for surgeries. I can deal with your problem instantly if you write to me at -

If you are in dispute with a Government department or council and write to me to take up the case on your behalf I will usually need photocopies of any relevant documents and reference numbers, or the case will take so much longer to get an answer.

I can only deal with constituents who live in, or have a business in Penrith and The Border Constituency. There is a Parliamentary rule that one MP should not take up cases from the constituents of another MP. If you are not my constituent, then I must refuse to deal with you.
