Your Representation

There are many layers of Government other than Westminster, each with its own particular role to play in representing your interests. While I will always be here to help you, I have found that if you use the correct agencies first, and only come to me if they cannot hep you, I can be more effective in helping you seek resolution of your problem. Please use the following links to explore the tiers of representation that are available to you, from your local Parish Council right up to the European Parliament in Brussels:

Parish Councils
There are over 9,000 parish and town councils in England and they form the tier of local government closest to the people.

District Council
District Councils are responsible for a wide range of important services likely to impact directly on your life, from licensing and housing to abandoned cars and local planning.

Cumbria County Council
Cumbria County Council is the top layer of local government covering a wide range of services for the people of Cumbria.

Parliament

MEPs
An increasing amount of UK law is, regrettably or otherwise depending on your opinion, made in Europe. Your primary contact on matters directly affected by European legislation is your local Member of the European Parliament (MEP).
